Small Business Reopening and Support Grant Applications Due June 30
Applications to the $25 million Small Business Reopening and Support Grant are due June 30.
This provides funding for small businesses, non-profits, charities and social enterprises that were ordered to close or greatly reduce operations because of the Public Health Order or were greatly impacted by orders to stay home.
In addition to a one-time grant of up to $5,000 to help your business safely reopen, a $1500 voucher to support those ordered closed to access consulting services is also available. More information is available online.
Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) Extended
The Government of Canada is extending the CERB by eight weeks, to ensure Canadians have the help they need as they transition back to work. This extension will make the benefit available to eligible workers for up to a total of 24 weeks.
The CERB is a taxable benefit of $2,000 over a four-week period for eligible workers who have stopped working or whose work hours have been reduced, due to COVID-19. More information is available here.
Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) Delayed
Scheduled to be available Friday, June 19, the CEBA’s launch has been delayed. Details on the new launch date will be provided shortly.
