The Board of Directors of the Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia (CSCNS) is delighted to announce that Dr. Annika Voltan is starting as Executive Director effective October 21, 2020. In this role she will provide strategic leadership on behalf of the vibrant network of 6,000 nonprofit organizations in Nova Scotia that collectively contribute $1.7 billion in direct, indirect and spinoff benefits to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Nova Scotia and a volunteer base that contributes an additional $1.5 billion annually.
Annika Voltan has a PhD in Management from St. Mary’s University with a focus on social entrepreneurship. In her most recent role as Executive Director of Inspiring Communities, she supports community work aimed at bringing together residents and diverse stakeholders to collectively address social issues. Annika has prior experience working across federal and provincial government departments, academia and business, which enables her to skillfully build bridges between sectors. She is excited about the transition to the Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia and believes that now, more than ever, there is an opportunity to think outside the box in terms of how the nonprofit sector is structured and supported to enable the greatest impact possible.
